Rod Lenses – Bright-Field Imaging for Rigid Endoscopy

Rod lenses—cylindrical glass rods polished on the circumference—are essential in rigid endoscopes. Introduced by Hopkins in the 1960s, this design boosts light transmission by up to eighty-fold and enables small-diameter, high-resolution instruments avantierinc.comedmundoptics.com.

FISBA produces rod lenses in fused silica or optical glass with diameters as small as 0.3 mm, high surface quality, and tight flatness. These are used to build rigid endoscopes with enhanced brightness, contrast, and color fidelity .

Flat Optics – Precision in Every Plane

FISBA’s plano optics provide the foundation for beam steering, image inversion, and splitting. Manufactured with tight tolerances (flatness to λ/10, angle deviations < 0.05°), our mirrors, wedges, and prisms meet high standards for quality and performance.
Typical uses:
    • Laser splitting
    • High-precision measurement
    • Imaging systems
In-house coatings—AR, HR, or specialty filters—ensure your optics are ready to install.
